Terms & Conditions

These are the rules you agree to when using Splitbill. They cover account eligibility, acceptable use, the AI credit system, refunds, the disclaimer that AI output may contain errors, and the limit of our liability. Please read before splitting your first bill.

These Terms govern your use of Splitbill at bill.rajkar.dev (the “Service”). By using the Service you agree to these Terms. The Service is operated by Raj Kar, India (“we”, “us”).

1. The Service

Splitbill helps groups split bills by line item, share read-only bills, and (with credits) extract bills from photos and assign items from natural language. Manual splitting and sharing are free. AI features cost credits.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Splitbill. By using the Service you represent that the information you provide is accurate.

3. Accounts

Anonymous use does not require an account. AI features require signing in with Google. You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorised use.

4. Acceptable use

  • Don't upload illegal, harmful, defamatory or copyright-infringing content.
  • Don't attempt to break, scrape, or overload the Service.
  • Don't use Splitbill to commit fraud or abuse other users.
  • Don't resell credits or transfer them between accounts.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

5. Credits and payments

  • 1 credit = 1 AI run (scan or assign).
  • Credits never expire. They are non-transferable.
  • Pricing is shown on the pricing page and may change. Already-purchased credits keep their value.
  • Payments (when live) are processed by Razorpay. By making a payment, you also accept Razorpay's terms.
  • Failed AI runs are automatically refunded as credits. See our refund policy for purchase refunds.

6. Your content

You retain ownership of bill data, names and receipts you upload. You grant Splitbill a limited licence to store, process and display this content solely to operate the Service for you.

7. AI output disclaimer

The AI features extract data from images and natural language using third-party models. Output may contain errors. You are solely responsible for verifying the bill and the resulting split. Splitbill is not a financial, accounting or legal service.

8. No warranty

The Service is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee accuracy, availability, or fitness for any particular purpose.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Splitbill, its operator and contributors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential or special damages arising from your use of the Service. Total liability for direct damages is capped at the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or ₹0 if you used the Service for free.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or to protect other users.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be reflected with a new effective date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the Service after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of competent courts in India.
